keyframe—the keyframe that is being currently adjusted in the Effect Editor—is indi-

cated by a bright pink color. Inactive keyframes are grayed-out.

When adjusting a keyframe in Effect mode, it is important to notice which

keyframe(s) is active. Often the blue position indicator under the Record monitor is

placed close to a keyframe, but that keyframe is not selected. If this is the case, you

could be adjusting another keyframe blindly by moving the parameter sliders but seeing

little or no result. Always be sure to check for the active keyframe before adjusting

parameters.

Adding a Keyframe

When you add keyframes, the effect does not change. The effect is altered only when

that keyframe is selected and parameters are changed. You can select a keyframe in the

Timeline by clicking it. To add a keyframe:

1. Move in the Timeline to the position where you want to add the keyframe.

2. Click the Add Keyframe button below the Record monitor or press the N key on

your keyboard.

Selecting Multiple Keyframes

To select more than one keyframe:

1. Click the first keyframe that you want to select in the Timeline underneath the

Record monitor.

2. Ctrl-click (Windows) or Shift-click (Macintosh) any additional keyframes. Mul-

tiple keyframes are selected.

You can also use Ctrl+A/F+A to select all the keyframes in an effect. You can-

not deselect all the keyframes of an effect. The closest thing to do is to click a single

keyframe to select that keyframe and deselect all others.

Deleting a Keyframe

To delete keyframes, click the keyframe to be deleted in the Timeline underneath the

Record monitor. The keyframe becomes highlighted. You can also Shift-select or

Ctrl/F-select multiple keyframes for deletion. Then press Delete on the keyboard. The

keyframe is deleted.
