CHAPTER 7: EFFECTS AND TRANSITIONS
BORDER COLOR
The Border Color and Blend Color parameters let you set the color for the border.
Adding a blended color allows you to create a gradient border. There are three values
that create the border colors: They are:
Value Explanation
Hue The shade of color as defined in value ranges between 0 and 255.
Sat Saturation:the intensity of color. The value range is again 0 to 255,where 0 represents no satu-
ration (color) and 255 is fully saturated color.
Lum Luminance:the brightness of the border.Values are 0 to 255,where 0 represents black and 255
represents white.
There are three ways to adjust Border Colors:
Parameter sliders By clicking and moving individual sliders, the parameters will
change. Adjust the hue, saturation, and luminance to the desired color. You can pre-
view the color of the border either by looking at the color preview box to the right of
the parameters or by previewing the effect.
Eyedropper This is a great way to sample a color from existing images in your effect.
To use the eyedropper, click and hold the mouse over the color preview box. Slide the
mouse over to your image in the Effect Preview monitor and release the mouse on the
color you wish to select. The color register box changes to the sampled color.
Color Selection tool This allows you to pick colors using color selection. To access the
color selector, click the icon next to the color preview box. When you find the color
you like, press OK.
BORDER BLEND COLOR
You can add and adjust the border blend color in the same way as the border color,
using the sliders, eyedropper, and Color Selection tool. Keep in mind as you select
your border colors that the gradient will contain colors in between the primary border
and border blend colors.
