CHAPTER 5: TRIMMING ■
An alternate way to enter Slip is through the Timeline menus. While in Trim
mode, place your cursor over the segment that you want to slip and either right-click
(Windows) or Shift-Ctrl-click (Macintosh) to reveal the Timeline menu (see Figure 5.14).
You can choose Select Slip Trim or Select Slide Trim using the menu.

You may have noticed that, upon entering Slip mode, the interface uses four
screens instead of the usual two (see Figure 5.15) because two separate transition
points are being affected when you slip. Thus, the first monitor contains the last frame
of visual before the slipped shot, the second monitor contains the first frame of slipped
shot, the third monitor contains the last frame of slipped shot, and the fourth monitor
Note: You can switch from slipping to sliding by holding Alt/Option and double-clicking the segment.
