Media Creation The settings for Media Creation (see Figure 3.24) allow you to prede-
termine a set resolution for different types of files, including captured files, imported
files, titles, mixed-down files, motion effects files, and rendered files. Why would you
need different resolutions? These are not important on Free DV, but in Xpress Pro if
your original media is DV-25, you might want to do a title in uncompressed video to
improve the overall image quality. By allowing different resolutions of media streams,
you can improve the overall quality of images and save drive space.

Render The Render settings (see Figure 3.25) allow you to activate a sound when ren-
dering, determine how motion effects are rendered, and further determine the quality
of rendered effects (high-quality, low-quality, or rendered as set in each effect. More
about that in Chapter 7.)
