ask which bin the freeze frame clip is to be stored in. Choose the bin or create a new
bin, then select OK. The freeze frame appears in the bin and is also automatically
loaded into the Source monitor for editing into your sequence.
Standard Motion Effects
Motion effects play back clips at a nonstandard, nonvariable rate. They can also utilize
a strobing effect, in which a frame is frozen and held for a predetermined amount
of time.
To create a motion effect:
1. Load the master clip or subclip with the media you want to manipulate into the
Source monitor.
2. Mark an in and out point for the media that will be used to create the motion
effect.
3. Choose the Motion Effect button under the Source monitor or, if you’re using
Xpress Pro, from your Command palette (Ctrl+3/F+3). Or map it to your
keyboard or the user interface. The Motion Effect dialog box appears (see
Figure 7.4).

4. Under the Variable Speed heading, select the duration or the speed (rate) of the
motion effect.
5. If you want to strobe the motion, select the Strobe Motion option and select the
number of frames between strobes.
6. Select an interpolation method for the effect.
7. Choose Create. The Bin Selection dialog box appears. Select a bin and click OK.
The motion effect is created and stored in the bin.
