graphics were previously imported at 15:1s and you have changed the import setting to

DV25 411, it will import at the DV-25 resolution.

After you’ve made your settings, batch import the files. They will have their

original names, but will be created at the new resolution that you have chosen. You

can double-check this by changing your bin to Text view and looking at the resolution

of the clips.

Importing Other Types of Files

There are a good many different types of files that your Xpress Pro or FreeDV can

import. Now that most commercially available music is on CD, your system is able to

import it directly and digitally with no loss of clarity. You can also import QuickTime

files. In the past, QuickTimes were considered inferior for their small size. But these

days, you can import high-resolution files from QuickTimes.

Importing Audio from a CD

When using audio CDs it is very beneficial to copy the tracks to a project file, just as

you did when importing graphics. By using this method, you have the ability to use

the audio without having to track down your CD again.

Importing audio from an audio CD works much like importing graphics, except

there are fewer options. To import an audio CD track, select the target bin and then

choose File

> Import. When the import browser comes up, select Files of Type > Audio

(Windows) or Enable

> Audio Documents (Mac). Navigate your way to the audio CD

(see Figure 6.12) and select the track.

Note: While we’re on this subject,let me remind you that using any CD music for public display is not a

good idea.(My attorney just heaved a sigh of relief.)
