CHAPTER 6: IMPORTING, EXPORTING, AND DIGITAL CUT
Figure 6.8 The Import dialog box
Single Frame Import Duration
For each graphic import, you can choose how many frames need to be created. For
example, if you want to display a still image for 60 seconds, you should type 60 in
this option box.
Autodetect Sequential Files (Xpress Pro Only)
Enabling this option (see Figure 6.9) allows Xpress Pro to look for a numbered pattern
in the filenames within a folder. This is the method used to import animated sequences.
Xpress Pro can import all the files from one of these sequences at once and create a
single clip, eliminating the need to string them back together frame by frame in Source/
Record mode. To import animated numbered graphic files, you have to select only the
first image of the file sequence. You can also import partial sequences by selecting a file
from further into the sequence. For example, you could import PICT.030, and that
would start the import one second into the image sequence and then proceed to
PICT.031, PICT.032, and so on.
Be careful when importing single files. If the Autodetect Sequential Files is turned on,and you have single
images numbered in sequence, it will import those graphics as a single frame inside of a sequenced clip, thus
making it more difficult for you to find your imported files. This has happened to me many times, so beware!
