a scan line so that the fields are aligned. This results in a smoother motion without
detail reduction, which would be noticeable in a Duplicated Field mode. VTR-Style
interpolation renders slightly faster than Interpolated Field interpolation, but in some
cases can create some noticeable jitter at slower speeds because of the line shifting.
Freeze Frames
Freeze frames in Free DV/Xpress Pro are clips that contain a single frame of video that
can be displayed for a set duration that you choose.
To create a freeze frame:
1. Load the master clip or subclip containing the image that you want to freeze
into the Source monitor.
2. Find the frame that is to be frozen in the Source monitor.
3. Choose Clip > Freeze Frame (see Figure 7.3). A menu of preset durations will
appear. Choose a duration or select Other to set a customized time for the
freeze frame.

4. Choose a method of interpolating the freeze frame from the drop-down menu
that appears
After making your selections, the system will ask where you want to store the
media for the new clip. Select a volume (a drive) and click OK. Next, the system will
